“Gardening imparts an organic perspective on the passage of time.”
~ William Cowper

Solstice Sunset

Ancient beliefs held that on Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year,
the sun and moon stopped in their flight across the sky.
The night was followed by great anticipation and rejoicing as the sun reappeared,
a sign of rebirth and an approaching new year.

In a spiritual sense the Winter Solstice serves as a reminder of the cyclical rhythm
of all nature with transformation and change the only constant as we move
to the dance of the ever present now.

May your holidays be merry and bright
and your stars all align for a fulfilling new year.

Garden Geometry ∞ Spring

GardenGeometry_Spring“What is now the foliage moving?
Air is still, and hush’d the breeze,
Sultriness, this fullness loving,
Through the thicket, from the trees.
Now the eye at once gleams brightly,
See! the infant band with mirth
Moves and dances nimbly, lightly,
As the morning gave it birth,
Flutt’ring two and two o’er earth.”
~ Goethe
